Darood Sharif in Urdu, Hindi, Arabic and English

Darood Sharif is a traditional Islamic prayer often recited in honor of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is believed to bring blessings and protection from harm.

The exact words of the Darood Sharif vary depending on the specific tradition. Still, it generally begins with the phrase “Bismillah” (In the name of Allah) and ends with “Allahumma Salli ala Muhammad” (O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad).

Some Muslims recite the Darood Sharif regularly as a form of devotion and spiritual practice, while others recite it on special occasions or to seek blessings or guidance.

Importance of Darood Sharif:

Several verses in the Quran mention the importance of Darood, which is the act of praising and glorifying Allah.

One such verse in Surah Al-Ahzab, verse 56, states: “Surely Allah and His angels bless the Prophet. O you who have believed, ask blessings on him and greet him with a friendly greeting.”

Another verse, found in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 152, states: “And do not forget to speak of Allah’s name upon you when you rise and when you are seated.”

These verses show the importance of regularly praising and glorifying Allah through Darood and greeting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) with respect and reverence.

Darood e Taj

Sheikh Abu Bakr Salim wrote Durood e Taj. People read it for different purposes believing that their wishes will be granted.

One school of thought says that we should not recite Darood Taj. According to them, durood-e-Taj includes things not proven in sharia, so they must not be recited. It has no base in Shariah.

However, almost all the great scholars, including Sheikh Salim’s contemporaries, have good sentiments about him & his personal life and approve of his scholarly contribution to Islam.
